Climb Calm
These sessions are for young people aged 12-25 who have additional needs (see FAQs below for our eligibility criteria).
In these sessions you’ll have the opportunity to learn how to climb outdoors (indoors if the weather is bad) meet other young people, and learn more about your nervous system and how to manage it.
Our instructors are focussed on your needs and are lead by you. We encourage you to find the right level of challenge, whether that is trying on the rock climbing harness, helping with the rope work, climbing a few metres or even climbing to the top. We understand that we are all different so everyone’s challenge will be unique!
We will run sessions based on age groups 12-14, 15-17 and 18-25.
We run the sessions for free, in some cases we ask organisations who have a budget for these activities to pay a subsidised amount towards them.
The groups are between 2-6 people depending on the needs of the young people.
We will come and meet you before the sessions so you know who we are and have a better understanding of what the sessions will be like so you can decide if you want to attend and what will help you get to the sessions.
If you can’t make it to a session we ask you to provide as much notice as possible as each day costs around £100 per young person so we will invite someone else to the session if you can’t make it.

This depends on you and what you need. We will cater the sessions for you. Some people might want to be in a group with others and some people might want to start with just an instructor and build up to being in a group. This is something we can talk about before we start.

We would like to be able to keep working with people for as long as they need it, but we also want to support as many young people as we can.
We run sessions during the school holidays from May to October Half Term.

Yes. We try to meet all the young people that want to come to groups as this helps people feel more comfortable with coming to the group on their first session.
